Pride in Your Parish
QUESTIONNAIRE: THINK GLOBALLY ACT LOCALLY = PEOPLE POWER
In 2004/5 the Parish Council had a survey of the residents, organisations and businesses. The feedback received formulated and actioned the Hyde Parish Plan and the Village Design Statement. Our biggest success was to have the speed limit on the village lanes reduced from the national speed limit of 60mph down to 30mph.
In 2018/19 we undertook another survey, which could be described as a 'light touch' to assist the Parish Council, the residents and businesses to develop further the concept of 'PRIDE in your PARISH'. We are an active Parish and the questionnaire asked residents to review and consider, as a community, what we could improve or add.
After reviewing the results of the questionnaire, the Parish Council held an Open Day at the Memorial Hall (June 2019) to begin to promote concerns and actions, and a regular monthly coffee morning commenced to enable residents to meet and discuss topics of concern with councillors. Members also began to investigate another area of concern - waste and recycling - watching closely progress with Fordingbridge Greener Living. Further updates will appear as information becomes available.
